Bellator Fighting Championships signs former NYU wrestling star Shad Lierley

CHICAGO, Ill. (February 18, 2010) – Bellator Fighting Championships put yet
another piece in place for its upcoming Season 2 featherweight tournament
today with the signing of 5-2 Shad Lierley, a former International Fight
League (IFL) standout and elite-level college wrestler.

The 29-year-old Lierley-who was a top college wrestler while earning his
bachelor’s degree in economics and political science at New York
University-is perhaps best-known for his legendary 2007 fight against
one-time IFL poster boy Chris Horodecki. Despite his wrestling background
(and the fact that he was fighting at 155 lbs.), Lierley stood toe-to-toe
with Horodecki for three full rounds, delivering one of the most dramatic
and action-packed fights in the IFL’s short history.

Bellator Fighting Championships announces Bellator Girls spokesmodel search

Three winners will be featured on FOX Sports Net, NBC, and Telemundo

CHICAGO, Ill. (February 16, 2010) – Bellator Fighting Championships, a
first-of-its-kind mixed martial arts promotion that will debut its second
season this April on FOX Sports Net, NBC and Telemundo, has announced a
contest to recruit talented women to serve as the company’s official
spokesmodels and round card girls – the Bellator Girls – in 2010.

11-1 middleweight Eric Schambari signs exclusive agreement with Bellator Fighting Championships

CHICAGO, Ill. (January 29, 2010) – In the latest addition to its growing
Season 2 fighter roster, Bellator Fighting Championships announced today the
acquisition of middleweight and former WEC standout Eric Schambari.

Schambari, who boasts an 11-1 professional record, is in the midst of an
unlikely comeback from a career-threatening injury that forced him to sit
out all of 2008. He is a perfect 4-0 since his return.

“I watched Bellator last season and I just think it’s a great organization
with some really, really talented and exciting fighters,” the 31-year-old
Schambari said. “In this business, it’s all about finding the best possible
competition and Bellator has some of the best in the world.”
